G-Day fellow Apexians my name is Rick Hose and I am seeking your support to become National Vice President. I began my involvement with this amazing organisation in 1992 after being introduced to our Association by a Life Member of the Apex Club of Maryborough in Queensland.
I am currently serving on National Board as the Service and Fundraising Chairman and have the skills, passion, drive, motivation, vision and desire to further strengthen the Team being assembled to lead this organisation throughout our magnificent 75 th Anniversary year.
“Our Future is in Your Hands!”
“Building a Team with vision, on a dream with a mission!”
I have been a part of National Board Teams in recent years advocating change. The expansion of this planning under Past National President Bryan Whitehorn, our current leader Stuart and future leader Bruce will continue should I be lucky enough to gain your support to lead the Association into the future. I believe I have the business smarts and Apex savvy to continue the philosophy of embracing change through sourcing timely opportunities of benefit to the Association and our Members. Our 20/20 vision document that coincides with our future business and marketing plans will form the basis of the way forward for our Membership and its Leaders. I am one of the voices that continues to call for Apex “to think outside the triangle” to use one of the phases that I brought to the District Governors School Training Sessions in Hobart. I will work hard to achieve an effective level of assessment and appraisal involving all levels of the Association. We need to create our own modern day “Point of Difference” for communities across Australia while respecting our heritage; if we are to remain a force to be reckoned with.
After all if we are to continue to self examine the way we go about our business as volunteers and expect a different result in the potential to grow our membership and reduce our costs, we are only fooling ourselves. Constant external examination will gives us the means to be a competitive volunteer force well into the future.
A modern Australia deserves a modern Apex!
I have the utmost respect for our Associations beginnings and our heritage. However if we are to appeal to the 18 to 45 demographic with in our Country some things must evolve so as to make our brand of volunteerism more sought after by those wanting to join our Association.
I have been a major participant in revamping our “External Image” prior to our 75 th Anniversary year. The Australian public need to be able to understand and relate to our altruistic vision for the “Land Down Under!” Words such as ‘altruism’ need to not only be understood by the populous, but we need to surge down the path of making Apex the “Winning Experience” that it can be, so as to have prospects wanting to join us rather than having to be asked to join. I ask you to consider what I have said and give me the mandate to find Apex a “theme song” that all Australians can relate to. My expertise in the marketing and promotions industry over the last 20 years have equipped me to continue to answer the call by Apex to create a image of greater meaning and effect. I need your help to continue to make this a reality.
Find Balance with in Apex and we’ll find our Strength!
As I travel around the country visiting Clubs and talking to our members there appears to be many common denominators. One that is most common is the need to strike a happy medium with in a Club through service activities, social outings, attendances and finances just to cover some of the conundrums facing our front line. Clubs need to, just as I will continue to, if given the opportunity to look at creating a greater balance, through a more focussed facilitation of that mix from a National Perspective. As a leader of our organisation I will continue to encourage Clubs to look at what age demographic or skills they are lacking; we will be able to target membership, have the ability to build Clubs that communities respect and rely on, while this approach will allow us to further seek partnerships with business and corporate Australia which obviously have long term benefits to the reduction of costs to our members.
I will continue to adopt an approach as documented during my recent term as the State President of Queensland when I asked my Team to look for opportunities to re-build Clubs where they have fallen, start Clubs where we have identified growth opportunities and also seek out opportunities to increase the number of Clubs from all gender groups of the Association where potential exists.
My track record in Queensland saw 5 new Clubs commence operation in the 12 months that spent as State President.
The Team Hose Vision
Our insurance expenses, 75 th Anniversary, administration, travel, Convention, Apexian, and Contact Diary etc are all items that I have identified as saleable commodities.
Through my current role I am working closely with the Foundation and the States to give the Association real long term hope of reducing our operational expenses. This is a long term process and will give us long term relief.
My working back ground gives me vast in-depth experience in this field for over 10 years and I would ask that you give me the means to continue to bring those future benefits and resources to the National Board, as your National Vice President.
Together we can make it happen!
The work that has been undertaken to bring together the Association and the Apex Foundation is not only smart business, but sees both Leadership Teams as resourcefully effective.
To create a closer continuation of this partnership would give the Australian public a greater appreciation of our aims and objectives, therefore elevating our level of competitiveness in the membership and fundraising stakes. As candidate for the position of National Vice President 2005/2006 I would like to congratulate those who have played a major role in the integration strategy thus far and ask that you give me the means to be a part of the total evolution of the complete Apex image into the future.
I’ve got the Experience!
I seek your support!
I am a Team player with over 9 years experience in operating my own businesses through some of the toughest economic times a market can throw at you. My wife of 15 years Sharon, my Staff and my home Club are totally supportive of my desire to become your next National Vice President with a view in 12 months of leading this great organisation to achieve more than you ever imagined possible. Every success is built on the ability to do better than good enough!
Are you prepared to take the first step with me?
